Beautiful

String words along, bead by bead
I will adorn my mind with your verses.
You look at ink with a lover's gaze.
I will try and never let it lessen my feelings.
Envy shall never overpower my love.
And I give you me willingly
For someday, I hope, that in your eyes, I am just as beautiful as your poetry.

Goodnight x

Product Review #01 : L'OrΓ©al Paris Le Nail Art Stickers : Chic, easy, nail art now falls right in your laps!

"Salon quality Nail Art has never been so easy!"

As someone who cannot even paint her nails perfectly (due to lack of practice I'm sure) , nail art stickers seem like just the solution to my problems! I was extremely excited to give these a try!
You file your nails, you apply these and voila! You're done! Now doesn't that sound great?

  • Product : Le Nail Art
  • Company : L'Oreal Paris
  • Price : Rs 299/- for 18 stickers.

"The 1st nail art stickers in both 2D and 3D effects by L'Oreal Paris. Give nail art a try with this collection of patches that adds fun patterns and shine to fingertips and toes. Each nail applies ultra easily and provides long wear-with zero drying time, or smudging. 3 step application, instant couture result."

The 8 nail art stickers

~ Pricing ~

This pack costs Rs 299 for 18 stickers. I find it to be quite reasonable since a manicured nail art would cost the same, if not more. If you divide it, you may find Rs17/nail to be sort of expensive, but all in all, I think it's a pretty good deal!

~ Directions ~

The directions printed on the back of the cover are very straight forward, and easy to follow. A lot of times we find that instructions are printed, but either you don't know how or they sound very advanced.
This comes with very basic and easily doable 3 steps which include applying the sticker, folding it & filing the excess sticker.

~ Application ~

The rules printed along the cover pretty much cover it up. You position the round end at the base of your nails, fold it over your nail tip and just file the excess away! All you need is 10 minutes and a filer. Instant beautification :D

~ My review ~

These nail art stickers are literally a boon for clumsy, lazy folk like me. They are extremely easy to use. The stickers come in about 3 varied sizes as well so we can use the broader ones for our toes/thumbs and the narrow ones for the pinky fingers, which is pretty clever thinking, me thinks. :D

Notice the sizes!

The stickers do not have any pungent smells, nor are they sticky. So you really CAN apply them in a jiffy, with no mess created at all! Only immaculately pretty looking nails.
And the best part is that they're terribly convenient to put on, and remove as well! So for all you adventurous spirits who change nail polish/nail art often, this is convenient and practically gets done in 10!

009 - Poudre D'Or

~ Durability ~

The cover says that these stickers last for 10 days. I shall post an update regarding this, but hey oh, if you garden or take beauty baths with your nails submerged in water for LOOONG (which is unhealthy for your hands, nails btw) then this statement is null & void! (I love saying null & void. They're such cute words, aren't they!)

Should you buy a pack? Definitely!
~ Reasons to use these stickers ~

  • Zero Dry Time is such a blessing! The days of blowing at your fingers and avoiding touching any materials are passe thanks to these nail stickers!
  • No Nail Color Remove Required to change your style, just peel off and it's done!
  • Zero Nail Damage as these nails have been tested for safety and will not damage your precious nails!
  • Zero Application Mistakes since all you need to do is position them & paste!
  • Extremely Easy Application since the hardest part is something we've done as primary school kids. It would take hard work to screw this up!
  • Reasonably Priced and you know the end product is worth it!

~ Tips ~
  • These stickers look their best with long, well maintained nails. So if you're planning on putting them on during a weekend, keep those claws sharpened and clean during the week!
  • While applying the stickers, if you first fold the nail sticker over your nail tip like we fold perforated papers before tearing and then you file the excess off, it becomes rather easy.

Blurry on purpose. Looks like a cluster of stars, doesn't it?

~Suggestions~

I couldn't find anything I'd like to improve on this product, except that it'd be brilliant if they could probably add a board filer to the pack since that makes it extremely convenient, but hey, that's just a lazy girl talking! ;)

Guest Post : "Souls" - DO,I DO.

" I was saddened to know about the death of a young girl who died from a disease, who was called away from life, into the Lord’s presence. Well, when someone dies, people say may their Soul rest in peace. Well, that is the truth…all our lives are a journey of Souls. Though we are humans from outside, we have a living soul in us.Each one of us have it. In our life, when we turn back to see, till date do we realise how many souls care for us,in the form of parents, family, teachers, loved ones, friends and well wishers. And we all exist not only with the help of the basic requirements such as food, air, water or any other need. We need to realise that we as living Souls have a short period on earth.Do good, the good comes back to you. Love unconditionally.
Bless with all your heart.Help with a cheerful heart.Forgive, and give.Whatever you gain on this Earth, the power, the possessions, the pride and the wealth will fade as God calls you, yet your Soul would want to rest in peace.Everyone has a soul in them, which would want love, care, joy and peace.Be not selfish and live and let live. Always remember, never to hurt the Soul who loves us and care for us, no matter what. No one is paid for whatever love, care and joy we receive.
When some soul (parents, siblings, family, loved ones, true friends) cares about you, remember its their time of their life that they share with you. Life is too short to regret. When you pray to God, he speaks to you through his spirit and since you have a soul, you hear it and since the soul has a heart, you feel it! Life is so short for a tug of war and its not short for a sky gliding! Meaning life is too short…live it happily.
Be the reason for someone’s smile(remembering everyone has a soul inside them).

Just thought I'd share this story through you. :) And wish your blog a mindblowing and happy anniversary! :) Keep spreading words. :) <3 "

Maira.

" .. And that was the end of my hair problems!" Maira ended, which was followed by great exclamations, encouraging whoops and applause.
She exited the stage and happened to bump into a fairly good looking young woman.
"Maira?"
"It's m'am to you" came the quick reply from somewhere in the crowd surrounding this famous beauty.
"Wait, have I seen you somewhere?" Niki asked Maira.
"Figure it our yourself Miss Bully" she muttered under her breath and left.

Niki was bewildered for quite some time .. Firstly she was late and she missed the chance of interviewing Miss Universe 2012 Maira, she was sure to get it tomorrow at the office. But that, strangely enough, wasn't what was nagging at her mind.. 'What did she mean by that sentence? Bully? What's she talking about?' Niki thought, as she got out of the lift, walking towards her house.

She entered to see her roommate stretched on the couch, watching television. The channel was broadcasting Maira's interview/press conference.

" .. and hey, I didn't get here unscathed. I was bullied. In school, oh yeah, don't gasp or look at me like that, I was bullied. But I wasn't all that fat, or ugly, and I wasn't hit, well then what happened? Let me tell y'all.
I was the only girl in my class who never did anything to my hair. I had pretty decent black locks which went down my lower back, which I always kept braided or tied up in a ponytail whenever I left home.

My parents were pretty conservative, not the type to keep me in the dark about boys and growing up and everything, but I wasn't raised up in a surrounding that made me want to experiment and color my hair. Among all the straightening, curling, bonding, streaking and dyeing, my hair was always the constant. Now a lot of girls kept getting mad at me because the teachers would always reprimand them, but since there was no such rule that said we couldn't do whatever we wanted with our hair, they could do nothing but lecture the class. The teachers would often take my name as an example, but hey, I wasn't some teacher's pet or anything. Far from it" Maira said, and giggled, her endearing dimples on display.

"I went to parties, I played basketball, I studied too, but was pretty average. The girls in my class would put chits into my bag calling me names, they would prank call at my house at times too.
So this goes out to every girl who oils her hair because she's not scared of being branded a behen-ji or boring. To that girl who doesn't fall prey to whatever the current hair fashion is. To that girl who ties her hair up simply. To every girl out there watching, who has being laughed upon because of her plaited hair, I survived it, and came out strong. And so shall you!" Maira stated, the audience captivated by her story.

" That was then and now? Well I am here, in a press conference midst hundreds of people, and forget what those girls do for a living, I have almost forgotten their names and faces even! Life is hard. But the fruits of labor, of having dealed with crap people, it is worth it!" she concluded.

"Maira, what exactly do you do to maintain your hair?" a journalist asked.

By now, Niki was gaping at the screen, Maira was the girl she had bullied? This exotic looking beauty? She'd never realized how her actions could've affected someone. She removed the plug out of the socket and ran into her room.. She felt horrible. Her only solace was the thought that Maira deserved all of it. The hair, the beauty, the fame..

Lisa's Room

"Ohmigod, is that you Jack?" she squealed.
The packet of macaroni fell from his hands. "Lisa? I can't believe it ... It's been how many years, 20? God. You look, just the same!" he said.
"You flatter me! Where did you disappear off to? I mean, I'm seeing you actually after like so many many years!" she said smiling, picking up his pasta.
"Never mind. How have you been? Still can't believe it's you .. "
"Ha ha. It's me allright. Just older, fatter an-" she stopped. He was looking at her like he knew exactly what she was thinking. His hazel eyes piercing her gaze.
'Lisa, I know you. There's no need to put up a facade. It's me, Jack' they seemed to say.

It suddenly dawned on him that they had stood that way, staring for maybe a moment too long.
"How have you been, tell me? How's he?" he said, trying hard not to inject too much venom into the last part of the sentence. He had grown old, but he still couldn't take his name without grimacing.
She managed a tiny smile, she knew how it hurt him but she didn't answer.
"Lisa, it was really really nice meeting you again after so long. But I really need to go now. I'm sorry but hey, now that we're here, we will catch up and everything yeah? You take care my pretty lady"
"Buh-bye" a chuckling Lisa said.
She started to move her cart but it hit something solid. His wallet. She looked at it for a minute, finally curiosity got the better of her and she flipped it open. There was a photo of them, in the park as kids. Not knowing what to make of it, she sighed and closed the wallet feeling a little guilty.

She smoothed her dress, a little hesitant to knock at his door.
'Had he gotten married? Of course he would have. What a dumb question that is. Way to go Lee. Did he have children? Did they share his beautiful eyes? Good lord, did I just think that?!'
She exhaled and slowly knocked at his door.
"May I help you?" a lady asked.
"Umm yeah. Is Jack home? I actually have his wallet, I found his address on his business card inside. If he isn't home, it's okay. I'll just leave this with you and -"
"No no, he's just upstairs.  I'll have him come down. Make yourself home ma'am"

Beautiful paintings graced his walls. Abstract, black and white, scenery, all kinds, she had no words. They were captivatingly beautiful. She had reached the end of the hall, there was an adjoining room, the door was almost open. She flicked on the light and she gasped.
Picture after picture and various paintings of her hung from the wall. Kindergarten, high school, picnics, Halloween, she herself didn't have these many photos of her, and here was a room decked from the ceiling to the floor with her pictures.
Just then Jack ran to her side, and opened his mouth to say something, looked at her, stopped.
Several minutes passed.
"After all this time?" she finally managed to mumble out.
"Always" he said, his voice low, but strong.

He wanted to tell her so much. How he loved her. He loved her since the party in kidergarten. He'd always loved her.
She had so much to tell him too. How she had never finally married Will. How in spite of everyone thinking the highschool sweethearts would marry and get old together, Will and her had had a fallout because of his parents. How Will was still the only man she had ever been with, after 10-12 years. How she ran into her basement and stayed there everytime her parents or friends would set her up for dates. How she cried herself to sleep every night feeling alone and wanting bodily comfort.
She had so much to say ...
"It's really really good to see you Jack." she said, with a peck on his cheek before leaving.
But for now, this would do.

"Love is a two way street: Love your hair and it loves you back!"

We all take extreme good care of our cars/bikes/mobiles, but what about our own body, which is indeed priceless?

I always felt out of place,
Wished I could go around, with a thickly veiled face,
Saw beauty all around me,
How I dreamt, wished and prayed that, that same beauty would flow through me.

Saw curly haired people always being bitches on tv,
I wanted straight hair, so badly.
All my cousins, my real brother, everybody had silky straight hair,
Only mine was a bother.

I tried straightening it, was such an epic fail,
My hair had never looked so flat, as if I had drowned it in kiloliters of tel (oil)
Hair became limp, the iron had done its bit.

Realized slowly, I had so much growing up to do,
I was unique, my hair was unique too!

Now when people ask me why don't I straighten my hair,
Or when they call my hair weird, I don't really care,
This curly, crazy, wild hair is a part of me,
When my hair flies while travelling or is a mess when I wake up,
It makes me smile and realize that I should be really happy,
Because that is a part of all those things that make me, ME!

In 7th standard,I really did straighten my hair for a school function. After washing it after a day or two, I realized I had been such a bad person to my hair. My hair soon became pathetically dry and the breakage- don't even ask! No amount of oil or proper diet could cure them and I cursed myself.
Soon, the hair grew itself out and nice squiggly diggly hair replaced the damaged ones. :D
Peace was restored!
My favorite, wow-some hair moment was last year, a day before teacher's day. I wanted to get a hair cut since sooo long, I went to the salon the day before. I told that female, quite firmly,I may add, that she should NOT reduce my hair length drastically. It was 4-5 inches below shoulder level. And ohmigod! She literally butchered my hair. It barely touched my shoulders, and that too while it was blow-dried.
And everyone knows curly hair, if blow dried/straightened appears longer.
I went home and cried. I could not even fit it into a rubber band, forget making plaits!
But it grew on me. And that hair cut still remains the best one. :D
It suited my face and was perfect <3
