Beautiful

String words along, bead by bead
I will adorn my mind with your verses.
You look at ink with a lover's gaze.
I will try and never let it lessen my feelings.
Envy shall never overpower my love.
And I give you me willingly
For someday, I hope, that in your eyes, I am just as beautiful as your poetry.

Remember Me?

You gave me your jacket that windy day we went horse riding

And clasped my hand tight running downhill when we couldn't hear anything 

except the wind and the blood rushing in our heads.

We laughed through the pants and the gasps till our sides hurt

Then we ate too many mini strawberry sundaes 

and played charades with everybody on the bus.

I guessed that movie you had completely made up, and your friends were mad.

The day I couldn't stop crying, you sat with me through breakfast, lunch and karate class patiently as I spoiled your favourite white shirt.

The twins kept telling everybody how it was a relief that she was gone 

but I had you and we missed her together.

You slept with my hands in your hair on the bus our way home

And during the pit stop we shared the cotton candy you bought for me, 

claiming you hated it and didn't want one for yourself.

We were so young and naive and quite cute.

I wonder if we have ever crossed paths these past seven years. I wonder what you look like now. I wonder if you ever think about me. Do you even remember me?

Barren

She thought of all the lullabies she would never sing, 

as she idly kicked the empty swing.

She reminisced about the aeroplane noises she'd never make,

and all the precautions she would never be told to take. 

She felt a shuddering cold,

As she thought of the parental role into which she'd never mould.

Discarded onesies lie wasted in the room,

Damp with tears, enveloped in gloom.

She sobbed as she thought of all the stories she would never tell,

Just because she let her guard down once, and down she fell.

He's Striving For Perfection

Jutting hips, freezing ribs,

A bony finger shakes, tracing own's tiny waist.

Pinching the skin with a thumb,

Staring dejectedly at the figures on the scale,

Erratic heartbeat, mind numb..

Gone is the laughter, gone the joy,

The first time when he deliberately heaved his guts out, 

Is the day the universe lost this boy.

Downward spiral, mind a bird's nest,

An intricate weaving of razzored scars adorn his pale chest.

Beauty eluding, the voices misguiding, 

Perfection alluring, flawlessness been finding.

One day he struck upon a treasure

It told him to not eat, and puke what he did, for good measure!

Clothes began to loosen, 

As did his ties with the world.

Derived of company,

Loses his mind in insanity's ink black swirl.

Smoke rings and vodka seem to be the answer to a riddle he's forgotten,

Not realizing his greed for perfection is wanton.

Sipping cold juice, on the grass.

Oblivious of everybody, the world spins so fast.

Look into your eyes and I see your love,

Shining and sparkling, stay with me.

Run your hands on my back, you know my weak spots,

My fascination, since day one you have caught.

Smooth your hair with my hands and now I'm gone,

You put me up on cloud nine and I need you now.

You have got me falling for you, fast and how!

Catch me baby, catch me, hold me tight.

Make me smile, make me laugh, we 'll set it right.

The people are looking, but I don't care, 

I see you looking at me, I can't break my stare.

My heart skips a beat and gives me a scare!

How long will this last, oh no one knows.

But right now you are my star and that's all I know.

So take me dancing, proper and slow.

Make me fall harder, make me fall in love.

Your hand fits mine, perfectly like a glove.

" First of all, congrats on your first blogoversary for this blog! You're an amazing blogger, and I really look forward to reading more of you! I couldn't quite think of a post that celebrated your blogoversary, so I ended up writing a poem, which doesn't relate to this, even the slightest bit. But here it goes!

Falling Behind

Dawn fluttered

Golden-fire bliss

The sun rose

But not a word uttered

The tiny, chirping birds

Spread apart their wings

Let themselves loose

To fly, to glide

Eyes opened

All was seen

Yours closed

The world unseen

Dark nights end

 It all started over

But where are you

Falling behind

Open your eyes

Snatch a glimpse

Take a breath

  Revitalize

Where are you

Falling behind

You're out of breath

Lost behind the crowd, insular

I slow down

Catching you

But losing myself

Where are you

Falling Behind

Bright clouds cover

Over your eyes they hover

I stop for you

 Lose my track

  Now I too

      Cannot see

              Where are you

Dark clouds cover

Over my eyes they hover

Where are you

Racing ahead

You're lost again

  Eyes now open

  You grew, you flew

    Far away

Inner Demons.

Close to me, so close, that I can smell your breath,

Inhale your intoxicating scent,

Wrap you in my arm, so tight.

Tell you everything once for all,

Plunge, take that jump, unafraid of the fall,

Open up my ugly side to you,

Through my eyes I'll let you glimpse a view.

Hold me through the night,

As my tears fall healing the scars,

Let me know you'll be there for me,
And then I can finally set all my skeletons free.
