New Beginnings! (A Short Story)

" .. But I can't!" she ended, looking away.
"You can.. Of course you can! You know I love you, always have, always will. Just this once, forget what your mind is trying to tell you. Please, I'm begging you, begging you for one chance .."

She was hurt. And betrayed. And lost.
It took her months to begin to accept that it really was over .. Why would she want to go down the same path? Isn't it said that once you repeat it, it's no longer a mistake, it is stupidity.

"What about Perth? The cat you promised you'd get me? What about our engagement? Why?" she'd shouted that night, her mind refusing to believe he would desert her just like that.

"I know what you're thinking.. I am not him Beth, you know me!" he said, trying to convince her.
"I thought I knew him too..." she trailed off.

* 2 days later*

"You're my friend. And because of you, actually make that, thanks to you, I could survive what happened. You're why I didn't give up, you're why I threw away physically, and mentally, everything that I'd been carrying all these years.
You're the reason I want to be new. More. Better.
And hey, I say, let's give it a try!" she messaged him.

To New Beginnings! :]

The Nokia Apptasting Event!

You know what's the awesome-st part of being an Indiblogger? Apart from the fact that it builds your network, you meet other bloggers yada yada yada? THE MEETS!

The Happy-5th-anniversary Indi-Cake!

Confused Soul & Me.

Vikas Khanna and moi. :D :D :D

This was my 2nd meet, and I was extra excited regarding this because last time I had had a blaast! :D
So I'm going to tell you all, even if you don't want to know, about the meet! =D
Also, my wit is active mode par only when I'm conversing or sometimes randomly. So do not expect a lot of funny stuff, but cheesy and cute and real? SORTED BRO.

The event was held at Taj Lands End, Bandra from 5.30 to 10.30 pm.

Highlights of the evening :

  • Beautiful ambiance, lovely light work and seating arrangements.
  • Rajiv Makhni and Vikas Khanna as hosts!
  • The ramp walk and introduction of the 'Silent Movie Film Director' app.
  • The 'Group Shot' app.
  • The techies and foodies quiz which was HILA-flipping-RIOUS!
  • The Indi-Cake cutting ^^
  • 21 Fools' Cards

So anyway, I read Rajiv Makhni's column about Outlook recently and what I always thought was that techies are not all that funny and awesome *shameface*
Intelligent and amazing yes, but I never ever knew that they can be this hilarious! Atleast Rajiv can! The spontaneous wit and teasing contestants, it made us laugh like crazy. :D
Especially the part where his coat(?) had to be fixed and he's like "oh, you don't want us to start?" to the man. I don't know why, but this made me laugh!

I also didn't know (as it turns out, I don't know a hell lotta things :P) that chefs can be this ADORABLE! :')
Vikas Khanna is extremely sweet. He has this adorable (I'm so boring :P) Punjabi accent which makes you want to go all d'awwwwwwwwwww.
And his expressions are epic too. :D
Also, during the quiz, there was this true/false question. The first team got it wrong and so he goes all 'shouldn't it pass' and a minute later he said that he got it. That laugh and expression = priceless. :D
[Also, if you haven't guessed already, I'm fangirling. (No points for guessing Sherlock.)]

Vikas Khanna and me. WHEEEEEEEEE! ^^

The Nokia Apps!

When TDKR released, I was pretty jealous of all Lumia users because they got all those coolsome wallpapers/screensavers of TDKR :[
But now, I have all the more reasons to be envious of them :|

1. The Silent Movie Film Director

The ramp walk with these 2 females along with Vikas was spectacular! I'm going to run out of adjectives because you just had to be there to feel it! Then Rajiv used the app and created this Charlie Chaplin-esque short movie which was actually really funny! This is something I can totally imagine doing while I'm with my cousins or friends, doing vellapanti ^^

Random photo of the duo!
So this app lets you view food/emergency/party places/anything actually without you having to receive a 'proper' GPS signal out on the street. It shows you how far it is, and click on it to get additional information like the contact details! Suchayy useful app to have!

Foodspotting is a pretty popular app but for the uninitiated (hi-5! :P), it's an app that lets you browse through literally LOADS of restaurant and dishes.
You can select the dish before ordering and you will not only get to read the reviews of the people who've had this before, but will also get to see a picture taken by them!

One of the clicks

In group shots, one person ALWAYS is looking away, has red eyes, forgot to pose, or quite simply, does not like the photo (me! me!).
So this God-sent app lets you select the best shot per person among the 4-5 clicks, eg : I looked best in the 3rd click, you in the 5th, so it takes these and merges them into one photo! Voila! You have the perfect group shot =) No longer is that a myth!

* The quiz I spoke, rather wrote about?
These girls won it! :D

Two Nokia phones. Talk about awesomeness! :D

* Vikas Khanna

* Quite seriously, these two were amazing, sweet, hilarious, in your face funny hosts!

* Indi-Cake! :D

* The Indi-Nokia Tee :D

One more tee to flaunt off. B|

* The 21 Fools's Card. Find out ALL about it on 21fools.com

It's a beautiful, really sweet initiative! Recently, on the 15th of August on our Independence Day, they sent cards to the soldiers who protect us :)
Go check them out!

I had a wonderful time! I didn't quite meet a lot of bloggers this time around, but these hosts made up for it. MORE THAN MADE UP FOR IT! =)

To be honest, when I got that photo clicked with Vikas Khanna, and later a pic with both Vikas & Rajiv and Confused Soul, I was grinning and going red like a CRAZZAY person on a joy high. Which I was, but still.

Me, looking like crap, but hey, whatever! :P

I just uploaded the picture of me with Vikas Khanna  today onto my social networking sites, and I got all these comments from ze ladies,  (just to show off and everything. NO, just FYI. I don't know why you would want to know this, but um, yes. *awkward pause*. Read till the end maybe?)
  • "I hope you didn't faint. Main faint ho jaati!"
  • "Amazing DP & Vikas Khanna"
  • "OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. Lucky you" (This on being told that it's Vikas Khanna's arm around my shoulder in the pic xD)
  • " Omg! Omg! Omg! :-*"
  • " whoaaaa... awesome!!! :))) I missed it, ahem ahem missed Vikas Khanna basically...*tch tch*"
  • " Let me die already!! D: Aaaaaah, I am so jealous! >_________<"

P.S The images have all been stolen off of
1. Blogwati G  's photo album. She's also the one who clicked that photo of mine. THANK YOU! <3
4. Absolutely Insane 's blog.

That's it. :D
Tadaaa, the post is up!
Goodnight and stay awesome. :D

Guest Post : "Dreams Are Magical" - KHADIJA (Of the 'Happy Birthday Saturn' fame)

Dream A Little Dream.

"Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry. But why on earth should that mean it is not real?" - Albus Dumbledore.

Dreams. Dreams are magical.
Dreams. One place where you can let your imagination run wild, where you can be whatever you want, where you date that fictional character you love, where that supermegafoxyawsesomehot actor sweeps you off into the sunset, where you can effing rule.
Dream, dream about going to that amazing university, dream about getting into IIT, dream about being a supermodel, dream about being a michelin star chef and owning that cute little restaurant by the beach.
Dream about writing a New York Times Bestseller, dream about being India's next M.F. Husain and getting your painting up in the Lourve, dream about being the fucking President.
Dream about earning your first phone, buying your first apartment, dream about getting married and dream about kids. Dream about your future, dream for your present and forget about your past.
Dream a little because when you dream you work a little towards achieving it.

"Its in your head, but why cant it be real?"

It can be very very real.
Dream a little and then work a little. And then see something unreal come alive. Dream enough to last you a lifetime.
Coz if you haven't dreamed, what have you done?
Dream a little, coz when you dream you strive, and when you strive you win.

Dream a little, and then dream a little more. :-)

P.S. Thank you for this guest post. Thanks a ton. I love you N<3

Guest Post : "Trolling In The Deep" - DOZING DODO.

Hello there, people. I don't know you and you all have no idea who the hell I am. But that's the beauty of blogging, isn't it? This is the first time I'm writing a guest post for someone so just manage with the random collection of nonsensical ramblings, okay? Okay.
So who am I? No one. Well, really. I mean I haven't done anything productive for the Universe till now, have I? Not that I’m complaining though.
Phew, always hate the introduction parts.

So ‘Why am I doing this guest post?' must be one of the first things you'd like to ask. No? Okay, lets ignore that part. Ni, my dear little sister (you know, mele main bichde hue types) asked me do it and well, I couldn't refuse. (Also, I get free publicity but that's a different story altogether. Shhhh.) And it's her first blogoversary! (HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY NI! :D) She's awesome like that, you know. Go buy her a cupcake or something.
Coming back to the post, I'm suffering from what writers like to call ‘a writer's block'. They could've at least come up with something more creative, no? I mean writers suffering from a 'Writer's Block'! What the hell is that supposed to mean?  I guess the guy who came up with it was suffering from a writer's block.

Ever wondered why we can't do all the nothing in the world that we want to do? That is what the world needs, you know. For people to take out time for themselves and do absolutely nothing. I know it sounds kinda stoopid (Okay, REALLY stoopid) but that feeling is indescribable. (Maybe 'cause it's nothing?)

People have opinions. I have opinions on people with opinions. People with opinions have an opinion about me. It's an opinion oriented world. Take twitter for example. Tweeples (That's what we like to call ourselves. A direct consequence of the ‘Writer's block’, obviously.) have an opinion on everything ranging from PMS to Tusshar Kapoor's moobs. If that wasn't enough, we have our very own brand of moral police : Tweeples hell bent on telling other tweeples how to type and what to type and anything remotely related to typing on twitter. These guys will go to any lengths to protect the modesty of twitter. Even if it means hurling out abuses with the frequency of a petrified hummingbird. Then we have trolls. People who believe that any person to walk the face of this planet with an opinion a wee different than theirs are, in simple terms, blasphemous. They will comment on all your activities, come up with a theory as to why this world would be a better place without you and list out a set of do’s and don’ts for you to religiously follow in order to please Your Royal Highness Sir/Lady Douchebag of Trollville. These usually include RSS Supporters, Celebrity fan clubs and yes even Satyameva Jayate bashers. (Tune into twitter every Sunday at 11am and you'll know what I'm talking about.)

But in between all this hustle, sometimes you meet people you can just connect to. It might be ‘cause of common interests. Maybe through mutual friends. You might not talk a lot, you might never meet, but deep down they're going to be there for you. And that's the reason why I love twitter.

About the writer : When he's not busy ranting about being bored, Aquib reads books, listens to music, watches football and occasionally studies. Second Year Engineering Victim. Sometimes, he wants to give it all up and become a handsome billionaire.
To know more of his views on life, the Universe and everything in between, you can follow him on twitter @dozingdodo
He is also a (dead) blogger at The Life And Adventures of the Hiding Dodo.

As you just read, Aquib a.k.a DozingDodo is my mele me bichda hua bhai. :D He's pretty darn awesome and I louu his randomness. Beeeg thank you bro, for this coolsome post. :D :*
And I agree that despite all those 'Twitter fights', and random spelling classes and sly tweeting blah blah, you end up meeting a hell lot of nice people too. And like he said, sometimes you might end up never meeting, but you know that if you reach out, they're there for you.
Thankyou for reading! :')

And Bolt Nails It Again!

Sunday evening as my dad, mom and I watched Usain Bolt, Blake, Asafa Powell, Tyson Gay,etc qualify for the finals that were to be conducted at 2:20 IST, I told my dad I want Usain Bolt to win.

And win he bloody well did! In 9.63 seconds!!

There's just something about knowing that a man who has created world recordS and is under SO much pressure .. The others were under pressure too, yes, but I just simply really wanted Usain Bolt to win.

He qualified pretty effortlessly in the evening, even watching who was behind him once he was 30 meters off the mark.
And in the finals conducted 25 mins ago, HE FLEW!

If  you missed it somehow, please go visit any link, watch the video where he ran 100 mts in 9.63 seconds, setting up a whole new record!

Yohan Blake of Jamaica finished second in 9.75 secs, and Justin Gatlin of the USA, third in 9.79 seconds. Congratulations!

Yohan Blake : "Usain is the fastest man in the world. I got a silver medal, what more can I ask for? I give credit to my coach."
